Perfect fit.
Only some bigger rubber around the legs to give it some more clearance.
Is a t2 roof higher in the middle than a t1?

Who knows?
I found this steel insert for the dash of a split beetle.
But i can not find what it was used for.
It may have been cut but the hole looks to be original.
Maybe a speaker? Mode ...

For the 60 mm you are about right. But the small 52 mm kienzle clocks
With the face to match the speedo are more expensive.
They look like the mirror clock but mount in the dash lid.

But the linkage looks to be from something else.
It does not fit.
