Are the inner races all the same? Just ID of bearings different? trying to use newer 4 lug drums on a 67. Can I just leave the races in the 4 lug drum and reuse the 67 bearings and 67 grease seal?

On the newer style, do you even need the cross piece? I am replacing an older style setup but I don't have the cross piece. I could find one but just wondering what the purpose even is.

Well the easiest way is to just buy wide five conversion drums they fit four lug cars 68 up there other ways but that's the easiest though

Its easy enough to swap the drums over for the 5 lug bolt pattern.

It isn't part of the oil pump. It is the big tapered washer on the end of the crankshaft.

Are you sure the oil slinger is on the crankshaft properly? The leak would be right at the top of the oil pump.
