Reading through some old Weber IDF tuning threads and came across this post. My Empi HPMX 40's do not have enrichment plungers and these bottom ports are wide open. Is that just a true Weber tuning ...

If you are not using enrichment (chokes) I would plug them... Word is newest version don't even have them drilled...

I fully seated all of the air bypass screws and tightened the lock nut before installing the carbs, I will have to pull the carbs to ensure they have backed out.

Tap and use screw in plugs at bottom flange... Would not JB Weld with long time soaking of fuel I tend to not trust epoxies...
