I just meant make sure the power to the coil is constant until you unclip it or however you have it hooked up. how should i test this ?
'm talking about plugging off the the little hose as it leaves ...

Are you sure the power wire to the coil is giving power at idle? this is kinda a catch 22 isnt it? Laughing it has to idle for me to be able to test the power it gets while its idling

Are the carburettor's threads stripped? maybe d'oh! i think thats why the threads on my solenoid were slanted like they were my guess was it rattled itself around and kinda slopped the threads

i did notice it kinda sits in there loose but would that effect anything
It must be snug. Are the carburettor's threads stripped? Use a file to make the hex top better and use a 1/4 drive 8mm socket ...

how would i find the degree? to time it i put it on tdc with the rotor pointing to the #1 notch on the distributor then played with the timing light. there is a good possibility this might be my probl ...
