There's a Speedster in the original Top Gun.

Where? I never saw a 356 in either movie. In the second movie, she drives a Karmann Ghia, but never saw a 356 Think

There was a black Speedster in Coming Home (1978). One of the characters, either Bruce Dern or Jane Fonda, drove it into a trash can in one scene.

This is an Intermeccanica.

For the new remake, the film co contacted Intermeccanica to see if they could supply a black speedster.

Fine and dandy, but a 356 was featured in the greatest movie in history

Paul Newman drives a ratty speedster in the movie Harper.

And when I was in elementary school (late 1960s) I had a pair of wraparound sunglasses like Lauren Bacall wears at the beginning of the movie. Would very much like to find another pair. Cool

Shall the thread title be changed to "Porsche 356 in movies & TV"? Or Zen could change it to "356 in Kill Bill and other movies". Make a separate thread and link this one to it as a start? Should also include period documentaries or other programs found on YouTube. We have a decent start here, and I have nearly 3 dozen screen shots of others which I'd upload to my gallery and then post into the thread...

I remember the 356 Registry newsletter had a regular column by one of our Samba members Sebastian Gaeta (has a '64 Ghia Coupe now) for 356 in movies.

I just searched the 356 Gallery for "in movies" where there are only 2 movies listed...

Tura Satana (at right) drove this 356C in the Russ Meyer movie "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" (1965). The license plate frame, if you care to see it, is from Bob Smith, a VW and Porsche dealer located in Hollywood since 1963.

R.I.P ZENVWDRIVER Sad

Two different 356s show up in the film Natn'l Lampoon's Vacation.

A red coupe is parked across the street from Lou Glutz Motors, where Clark & Rusty are picking up the Family Truckster.

Another coupe is seen thru a restaurant window as the Truckster speeds by with Clark fast asleep at the wheel.

("other media")- Article describes Porsche's local test track at the village of Weissach, near Stuttgart- https://www.porschesport.com/news/tales-from-weissach

Notice how the front 356 has its front wheelwell opening much higher than on the trailing cars- the peak is about the height of the top of the headlamp...

German TV movie miniseries "Ku'damm 56-59-63" were 3 movies about the Galant family's dance studio along the "Ku'damm" main avenue in West Berlin, Germany during 1956 thru 1963. Ku'damm is the nickname for the full name Kurfuerstendamm. Production team was thorough with the use of period-correct cars. These 2 shots are already in my gallery. I have several other shots of each 356 not yet processed which I'll upload soon.

Main character's Porsche Speedster in Ku'damm 56 (2016). Speedster is a replica, seen by the 8 brake vent holes in the wheels which are indicative of 4-bolt wheels.
