If I wanted to mill underneath the valve springs of a repro Okrasa head, how far could I go? There's 6.35mm worth of material between the spring and the nearest void.

How longer are the springs you want to install ..what you can also do is weld the first void by milling pass it and welding it up and remill it to specs than you really have extra material but that's extra work and money ....to do all eight would be a headache....but also buy milling down the valve spring area now the valve guides will have less material to support it ... so another headache but it depends on how much lower your going I would go about a only a quarter down would or could be safe maybe less than that of that 6.35mm just to leave it as thick as possible .... |
