Almost too good to be true.
If one were serious about this one an in person inspection is an absolute must.
The price is definitely right. If it's all the seller claims it should sell quickly.
Chrome Blue seems right.
The seller claims a respray was done 45 years ago. So the car was repainted sometime around 1978.
For perspective, my very first KG was a 67 coupe that my dad bought in 1975 for mom. She hated it so it became mine. At the time it was about eight years old. We lived in N.E. Ohio, typical salt belt town. The rockers, headlight buckets, lower rear quarters and floor pans were severely rotted.
So, it doesn't surprise me a Ghia that has spent all of it life in Mass. would have been resprayed if the intention was to keep it. My guess it was probably an Earl Sheib special. I can't imagine anything more given the time frame.
It seems exclusively listed on Ebay at the moment. I haven't seen it here or on Craigslist.
I agree, BAT would be a great venue. I here the wait time to get approves and listed is at least a couple of months. Perhaps the seller is hoping for a quicker turn.
That being said it is exciting that it exists. I hope it's as good as it appears. _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.

Interior is all original right down to the rubber mats. Door panels and front seats look very well preserved.
The "Volkswagen" emblem is missing from the engine lid though?? And I am not seeing any photos of the engine bay which would be very telling.
I like that its' a private seller, not a dealer. _________________ Marc

Nose has a lot of bondo in it. Being an east coast car it would require some careful inspection for possible rust repair. The price is a good one for a car with no inspection. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Yes, and too bad someone drilled thru the rear deck to install a radio antenna That small hole will be rather expensive to fix should the antenna ever get moved to its proper location.
Not a deal breaker, but that rear bumper is from a later car. _________________ '63 Ragtop (current)

Is it really a fair price? Add a decent paint job $12-15K, correct rear bumper, nose job redone correctly and what ever else? _________________ 1956 Beetle Oval Rag top with Judson SC

Just listed, a 1968 Karmann Ghia Cabriolet just pulled out of a barn after 40 years of storage. It's pretty impressive, and a very fair price. I wish they would put it on BAT instead of Ebay.
Is this Chrome Blue?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/185821138471?hash=item2b4...R5TukPHfYQ
It would likely go for more than that on BAT, maybe low $30s.

Hmmm...I must have one somewhere. |

Maybe Harold & Maude should have had a Ghia instead of a Jag

Chrome Blue is more of a baby blue. It looks like Marathon Blue Metallic, L96M.
The ebay ad mentioned a non-original repaint.
Chrome Blue L51K
Marathon Blue L96M

$24,700
If I'm reading it correctly it's a "Buy it Now" price
Something seems rotten in Denmark (Florida)

Ocala Florida
According to Google Maps I'm 159 miles away.
So close but yet so far.
