Great looking bus! If it were mine I would take the exact same approach. Looks like you are using the Grabber's as opposed to the bias plies. How do you find they drive? Is your Westy originally out of Ark? Didn't know they were repopping SO42 tent poles |
Thanks! its been a lot of time away from the family and i hope to switch that around! The grabbers are excellent tires! Drive Quiet, but provide a thick sidewall for strength in turning. Great traction and overall look B.A!

Amazing work. How long did the work take and where did you get that flooring material?

I bought the bus in 2020 and have been working on it diligently ever since. And I still have more to do!
The floor material came from NLAVW. |

Wow, I got mine from them too and I was looking for something with a clear coat on top. But yours installed has changed my mind. Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration to us all.

Nice score! I love it when a Bus that has sat for a long while and gets bought by someone who watched/stalked it for years, and gets cleaned up, fixed up the way you have done it. Kind of like the Bus finally got into the hands of a person that would do it justice, instead of being flipped many times w/ no love given to it. _________________ Tom

Thanks. I think NLAVW must have had 2 runs of this material made. I originally
Purchased the black style material, but after discussing with my buddy we both
Decided to go with the lighter option. We saw your version here on the samba with the cloth back (just like the black version) and were both surprised to find out the light color version we got did not have the cloth back. I think its a bit more durable and solid.
You can see without the cotton back
It left a clean finished product on these
New support blocks made for the z bed

Thank you. This bus is “home”. Me and my wife are expecting our second child soon, a son, and i hope he takes interest and I can pass this one down someday. |

Thanks, I’m going to check back with them as I don’t want this cloth back style. Your info sure helps.

Be super gentle with that Wright Gearbox transmission. The 2 successive rebuilds I got out of there were less than quality and lasted less than 3 years of easy driving before they grenaded. He was also was less than helpful on the back end of it all. Make sure you save the order details (not just the date but the order NUMBER) or you’re SOL. |

I did some research before going with wright and Ive seen mixed reviews but ultimately decided to pull the trigger.
I will update the thread shall any issues arise. |

I envy your rear deck so much as I'm sure some other westy owners do. Those mattresses seem to either preserve or destroy and you got dealt the lucky hand on that one. _________________ Oil Capital Air Cooled

Very True. Every bus ive ever had has been rusty back here and pitted.
The black spot you see before the clean up is some old Lacquer Paint that spilled. it was very hard but brittle enough to remove by popping it off in sections. very lucky!!! |
