Continuing down that rabbit hole, takes me here. I haven't tried these guide pins, but maybe you will find this useful.

FYI -
Cross reference of the rotors reveals:
Zimmermann -100.1210.00
brembo - 09.5734.10
for instance. - there are lots of other manufactures.
This s the 276mm rotor
So:

Do your own due diligence on this! |

We just introduced the early model Vanagon big brake kit that uses the G60 style caliper.
These calipers are used on so many vehicles that the aftermarket will stay strong for many years to come. _________________ #leftlanelife |

How do you address the mounting issues of the G60 caliper on the early spindle? The picture on your web site was pretty generic! |

We fabricate the mounting brackets to make it possible. There are two variants of early model spindles with slight differences that get made for each customer. We send a return label for the one you don't need. _________________ #leftlanelife |

Syncrodoka,
I'm currently installing Smallcar front disc brake kit on a 2wd van and while there is no G60 or Girling marking on the caliper they do look identical to a G60 caliper. Maybe they are some sort of reproduction.
I did paint them red |

I struggled to find pads for the g60. Napa couldn't get them. Canadiantire, and partsource couldn't get them. Finally got them through autopartsway. If these turn out OK I'll order another set in advance.
For replacement pins I followed a suggestion in this chat and contacted big red.
They sent me this which does in fact appear to be a perfect fit. Volvo 740.
I'll install in the coming days and will be able to report back.

It would be great if SmallCar were to stock caliper rebuild kits including the slide pins. That would alleviate the concerns that prompted this thread. _________________ '84 Westy, '93 Subaru ej22 and Subarugears 5speed

I wonder what that difference is?
I catalogued a fairly big sample of every 2WD spindle I ever encountered over the years, I missed this difference (which must be the mounting part?)
I was trying to decode the 251+ Letter stamping to identify them right away when people send a pic for example, but it's not that straight forward.

I bought ten sets of NOS 2wd front spindles. There are slight differences between them.
I could send pics/part numbers of the ones I have remaining. |

I've seen a few on the late ones, but none on the caliper mounting on the early ones. Do you have that info? _________________ Silicone Steering Boots and 930 Cv boots for sale in the classifieds.
