Hello, I'm currently doing a full color change on a 53 Pre A. The car was restored in red some 35-40 years ago and now is being returned to the original Fischsilbergrau metallic. The interior pieces are a dark maroon color. I can't find, so far, any information regarding the maroon. Either a code, a name or even a description that could help lead me in the right direction would really help me out. I've called several notable restoration shops around the country that specialize in 356's and still no luck. Anyone here have any knowledge in this area? Thank you

By chance do you know James Davies? He is an absolute savant on early pre-A cars and I can tell you if he does not know, it will be tough to find someone that does.

He is a 356 Registry member and you can contact him on their forum.

EDIT: I believe he is also a member here so hopefully he will see your post.

Yes, I have a sample of the maroon dashboard color. Happy to share it. Where are you located? Send me a PM and we can sort out the details.

My '53 coupe is also Fish silver grey, but had a grey/blue interior, so dark blue dashboard.

An example of the maroon can be seen here

Thank you very much for the photos. Yesterday I ordered a paint sample from a company that sells them. I appreciate your help very much.

My 53 came black with a maroon dash and inside door tops and the 2 under the pop out rear side windows. I really like the different color mix they did on them.
