I would guesstimate $200 - because that is what I just paid on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/195684012249 _________________ Brandon

Well these rebuilt BMW brake boosters are back in supply. Note there is a $20 core charge that obviously we won't be able to return.
Who has experience with these rebuilt units? Are they worth the conversion effort. The part price is minimal vs the pulling of the dash.

No, they no longer are
odds are there was (1) that was listed by multiple 'fulfillment center' ebay shops and it's gone from inventory now that it was brought to this threads attention.

My order was canceled due to 'buyer requesting to cancel order' - which is not the case.
Bummer. Hopefully, more batches come out soon. Or even better yet, ATE will produce new ones. _________________ Brandon

Still don’t see how it improves stopping. Should only reduce pedal effort. Also, perhaps these were replacing actual bad vanagon boosters and the brakes acted awesome fitted up with a new booster. I would not lose sleep over not having access to these. I’d be more concerned if vanagon ones disappear. _________________ ☮️ |

The Vanagon ones are gone, aren't they?
I was working on a similar ATE booster to make a kit for the Vanagon, but they went NLA as well in the meantime.
The bigger booster helps with pedal force, the pressure doesn't change.
I was needed for disc brake conversions that had a smaller caliper piston, bc the pedal force required was greater. That's my theory at least.
I too wouldn't loose sleep over especially with the new kits coming out with better piston sizing.
I have one in my Syncro, bigger master, bigger calipers, bigger wheel cylinders, it's way too spongy feeling, but I got used to it, I'm not replacing it again _________________ Silicone Steering Boots and 930 Cv boots for sale in the classifieds.

You have the concept correct, the booster is literally just that, a booster to your foots’ effort. A larger booster will make your effort “super charged” powered by the vacuum of your engine at low RPM. No magic or witchcraft here, just physics.

Not dangerous like a fuel leak but as the age our mobile toaster boxers are, it may be worth while to check the full length run of vacuum line from front to rear for leaks. A roadside check of idle problems should include taking the vacuum line out of the equations.

O’Reillys has stock now. I paid $121 after tax and core charge. Hopefully this one won’t get cancelled - pick up in store. _________________ Brandon

Glad it helped!
I have been looking for a new ATE one for years. Now I am at a point where I will settle for a refurbished one. I am still leaving my alerts turned on for new ATEs and will upgrade if they start producing them again . _________________ Brandon

Ah sorry to hear that. I have my alerts still setup for remanufactured one so I will post here when they're back in stock. _________________ Brandon
