Hi, what would be the best method to paint a stock 57 bug beam that does not have any rust, but needs to be brushed on because the car is assembled and painted? My goal is to remove old paint that is coming off the beam. Should I use a degreaser followed by a rust encapsulator, and then paint over it? Will using a degreaser and just a rust encapsulator do the job? This is not my area of expertise, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks

You can check E. Wood auto body supply and they have a couple of chassis paints. I believe they are for "spraying" but for a beam I think you could use a brush/foam brush and get decent results. There should be some application info there too as far as cleaning/prep as well.

I hand painted mine with KBS and it came out great. The brush marks virtually disappear.
