Can't find the links now, but I'm pretty certain that's from the road test of the first right hand drive T1 imported in to the UK. It is from one of the motoring magazines at the time.

Here's an interesting one. The LT wasn't VW's first larger bus project. In 1952 they built
this prototype, but production was never given the go ahead due to cost concerns.
