Here's another interesting prototype.

In 1950, Nordhoff decided VW needed to diversify, and offer a model below the Beetle, so Hastner devised this three-wheeled
prototype that used a two-cylinder VW engine. Beetle sales were picking up so rapidly at this point that plans were abandoned.

Are the screws on the door panels stock? What year would that be, early 50's or late 40's?

All very well covering up the tyres and wheels like this, but what about the one sitting on the front of the vehicle? Yes, the one more likely than the rest to be seen by an aircraft!
