I cant believe no one has done this before, the concept is so simple.

But as some one looking for some replacement fenders, well...

Would you get one to cruise the VW shows with?

VWs have to be the most abused cars ever.

I'll pass.

Seeing that contraption makes me want to go out to my garage and give my Beetle a long hug. "I promise that will n-e-v-e-r happen to you" Sad

Who cares? It’s like chocolate covered bacon just quirky enough and besides some folks like to be noticed. Very Happy

Looking at those fenders on the video and then on the photos suggests the fenders are symmetrical. That would have taken some extensive work. Or maybe they started with something besides an old VW fender?

May be an extremely nice guy but not all nice guys have good ideas. This is the WORST I have seen in years......so it probably is seen as HOT by others! Next thing you know he'll be wanting a set of tools for his Toyota pickup.

It looks like the scooter from “The Lorax”.

I detect a hint of "sour grapes" here! This guy has a sense of humor, an innovative mind and a skill set to match. My hat is off to him. Even just the entertainment value of those pictures is worth it to me!

Would I buy or build one for myself? No but the grandkids would sure get a kick out of riding one!

Not at all, After seeing the Volkspod, it just looked familiar for some reason & it dawned on me where I had seen it before. If I didn't have so many other projects, I would totally whip one or two out, they'd be fun entertainment especially in parades, swap meets, & what not.

Besides, the only thing VW (Maybe) is the fenders, they probably came off some rusted out hulk most of y'all woulda turned up your noses at & suggested that someone "find a better, rust free car.".

Please, someone come and take my mountain of fenders I can't sell or bear to throw out. Seems like a sweet idea

Resurrecting an old thread but there’s a whole Facebook page out there about Volkspods.

Inspired me to build this work in progress. Note to the critics- I know I’m a horrible welder!

Fun little project I finished recently for a good friend. Started as a Coleman 100 mini bike that was shortened a bit.
