Yes, this was the video he posted on BAT Auction when he sold it a few months ago. Think he got over 10K.

He got over $10K for this?
I posted my mint 4-speed 412 here for over a year at $10K or best offer and got only a few nibbles here and there. But that was also three years ago; maybe the market has evolved since then. |

Yes he did. That was on BAT auction though. This auction has a huge following online and is viewed worldwide. I am constantly amazed and entertained by it. A good type 4 can do well here. It is very rare that one comes up.

A lot of it is classic marketing. A lot of people who have only ever driven bugs, type 3 or buses.....in the last decade do look on in "light" admiration when they see a really nice "looking" type 4.
But seeing one is one thing....actually seeing one driving...and hearing the quietness inside and yet still hearing that aircooled engine, and good heat, comfortable seats...huge inside.....a really nice car....that makes a difference!
