Still working on the electronics.....had some problems there. I will get there though.
Made a grill for the back end.
Still working out some shape ideas on what to do with the fiberglass. The rest of the body is made just gotta make something work on the back end

I've been watching the updates on your build. It is impressive!
Tail lights are in the red section of the rear of the car, and the exhaust is trough the white mock up section?
Have you thought of bringing the grill a little higher and bending it to match the rear body line?
It might clean up the look of the grill and blend it into the body lines more smoothly.
Keep up the fantastic work. This is turning out to be a very nice build. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Hey thanks for the input!
The spare tire is above the radiator.
That rectangle box in the white middle is for the license plate. No other place large enough.
The holes in the white are the exhaust.
The holes in the red are tail lights....but could be moved anywhere in the red. I have euro style (yellow turn) bus tail lights for it.
Current thoughts are.
The white each side of license plate angled (hard to see in pic) to make a duck tail. The bus tail lights half frenched in to the duck tail.
But I really hate the straight lines around the perimeter.... especially the sides.
Thinking to round off the upper area and blend into duck tail. Then tuck in the lower bottoms probably all way to wheel opening. _________________

Here is the spare tire.....uhhhhh....yes...mounted to the underside of the hood.....of course the hood skin is mounted to a tubing frame.
That license plate flat spot in the mock up is touching/taped to the spare tire.
Aluminum grill, license plate mock up, spare tire, all flush...ish vertically. _________________

Three back to back sinus infections and a sickly wife has kept me away from the project car.
But slowly getting back to it.
Working out the electrical gremlins. When I stopped I was getting close to starting the engine.
Instrument panel..... guage on the cage
Rearward veiw is mostly engine.
Overhead console and kill switch.

Awesome! Sounds fantastic.
Now I have to wait for you to get the body finished and the car on the road.
Thank you for sharing the first start. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Well it is double double over, 4 valve per, with itb's, small displacement, low torque. More like a motorcycle engine really....all aluminum and such. Heavier than a flat 4 but less than an iron block V.
I would not expect it to pull hard past the mid 7's.
8k is stock rediline with single throttle and iron manifolds.
I need more cam if I expect it to pull to 10 with a load on it. _________________

The Vokaro is out of the corner.
Maybe a test drive soon?

I did drive it around the parking lot..... way out of tune but running.
It spins and spins ....... never got the tires hot enough to even squeal......just scratch. Not much speed to be had in the parking lot......but even after a gazillion donuts still no heat in the tires. Maybe once out on the street. I do have soft cheap dry weather only tires on it. I will probably have to go to non DOT race tires to hook it up.
I ordered a crank trigger and an igbt....now to fit that up for the ignition instead of the Chinese copy of an msd hei. Still keeping the distributor....to distribute.....and old school looks.
Working on the body right now. The underside/backside of the fiberglass is sealed up and painted. _________________

This car is sexy, even without the body on the chassis.
But the pic, Wow! Love that mudder in the background!

Yeah .....that is the shops car......a company project/sponsored/group project.
It is dirt drags. The track is tilled up deep, smoothed out and watered.......you could row it up and plant a nice garden. But we drag race in it
The car is in the middle of some upgrades...... getting a 14-71 and a big and ugly hat .....and a crank/rods to hold the pressure. _________________

I have been working on the body smoothing.
Have not done the crank trigger yet.
I did machine the 36-1 wheel, but have not grafted it onto the pulley yet.
I had to move the chassis ......so I drove it around the parking lot some more. I did get a little squeal out of the tires (lowered the pressure).
I got side tracked while working on the nose.,...I never did get fully happy with the splitter idea.
So ..... I made a chin spoiler fin with spats while I had it upside down. I have some extra on the sides so i can trim it after flipping back over.

Got the hall effect trigger mounted and a 36-1 stator ring grafted on.
Still gotta pull the ecu board and solder in an igbt to run the coil directly (instead of the hei).
And started on the body work.
Have the lower areas worked in, primed and base coated.
Now to flip it upright and do the main part of the body.
