Have a 1995 Eurovan Camper and the starter battery seems to be draining and after a couple of deep dives I think I need a new battery. Two questions: 1 Suggestions for best battery? 2. Any ideas on what is causing the battery to drain? I think I have everything turned off but I may have missed something.

I'm of the opinion that the most CCA (cold cranking amps) is the way to go. I see many customers T4s come through my shop with a tiny little start battery. I know T1N Sprinter (2001-2006) batteries will fit( snugly).

I'd verify that you don't have a parasitic drain as well.

How old is tee battery. Could just be dead and not a drain. 3 years and batteries start going south. 10 years is about the most you can get out of a well treated battery. If it is in fact a drain, the first thing I would check is the isolator solenoid. This connects the starter battery to the rest of the camper's electrical system. It should be isolating when the key is out of the ignition. It is this device that sits on the firewall behind the battery. THe yellow wire is the trigger wire, that turns on the device which connects the 2 big black wires. With the key off only one of the black wires should have power to it. Check using a voltmeter, negative to the battery ground, positive to the black wire. If both black wires show power with the key out, then the isolator relay is bad.

As for what battery to replace. I stay away from the fancy AGM or gel batteries. Just get a lead acid. Highest CCA. Any place that sells batteries can look up the size/type/fitment.

MrPulldown, Thanks for the suggestions. I replaced the isolator solenoid recently since the auxiliary battery wasn't getting a charge when the car was running. One of the wires has 12.8 V as expected but the other is sitting at about 3V. Seems like the isolator isn't doing a complete job or is this normal?
