On a stock 914 with 215mm flywheel and 901/914 transaxle is the only route for a clutch and pressure plate the factory or aftermarket 'race' parts? Perhaps is there a pressure plate and clutch disc that will work from another vw/audi/porsche ?

Thanks.

Stock engine? Why need more than the stock clutch?

The 914 engine is similar, if not the same, as the VW Bus engines. Look at VW vendors.

The stock clutch/pressure plate for the 914 is the same as the early 901 equipped 911's. So the price is high comparing it to about anything else for a basic stock clutch kit, because 911.
I'm prepared to buy it. I just want to know if there's alternatives. Nothing I've found as is listed as compatible, but off label I assumed there was something. Like I remember a ford ranger clutch could be used in a audi etc.

I run a SACHS stock clutch & pressure plate in my 2270. More than enough grip and has great drivability. I picked up new from AutohausAZ for $300
