Hi all,
I've an issue with the dash pod lights not working. Out of the four lights only one is working, the high beam. The semaphore, generator & oil pressure not working.
I've checked bulbs, connections redone the earth connections. What am I missing, everything else is working
Help much appreciated
Thanks Dave |

On the generator and oil pressure bulbs, are they getting power?
The power should be measured on the side of the bulb holder or you can check it where the wire attaches from the ignition.
You can see the wire on the right side here, a black wire from the ignition to the center of the 2 bulb holders/connectors:
(Yours may be riveted, this pod is restored so they used screws)
The wire that goes to each bulb holder screw connector grounds the bulb so, for instance, if you disconnect the oil pressure wire at the sender and ground it, this would make the light come on. _________________ How to Post Photos

Hi all, Everett,
Thank you for the information very helpful. The two live feed wires going to the pod lights were wired as earth's on my car, hence no pod lights.
I have temporary run cables from these to the ignition switch. The semaphores light up, oil pressure light good & once started goes out. The only problem I seem to have now is the generator light stays on all the time.
I'm thinking that maybe one of the other wires attached to the back of ignition switch may be incorrect.
One thing to mention, the generator light is constantly on with or without engine running.
I have highlighted the two live feed wires for the four pod lights as well as the back of ignition switch to highlight what I have. See attached pictures
Help much appreciated thank you Dave |

One of my faults turned out to be generator. Done usual checks plus polarisation. Also swapped out D shape regulator.
Strange thing that the generator/regulator was refurbished a couple of years ago during resto.
Thanks all Dave |
