i see replacement bumper mounts from wolf parts and kdf service as 52-60, a long mount. and also a listing for pre 53,a shorter mount. what month in 52 did the mount change to the longer version. trying to know what would be right for my car. thanks

June 52 definitely has the short mounts. These were changed to long mounts at some point in the 6 month Zwitter period (Oct 52 to Mar 53), IIRC.

To go deeper the split rear bumper mounts, also split has two different lenghts, one is 195 mm and other 205 mm. I have no idea when each was used, my 1/52 and 6/52 has shorter ones, as my friend's 10th October manufactured 1951 has too. But an other 16th October 51 manufactured has longer ones. Maybe 2 suppliers and mixed?

The difference is on the front end.

205 mm (my own made):

195 mm (borrowed Wolf):

Interesting, I did not know that! The longer version of the short mount has a flange at the front end, for maybe a couple of extra spotwelds? I hope they were used interchangeably; if not, no peeking under the rear fenders please!

What would be correct thickness of sheetmetal for the bumper mounts?
1mm too flimsy, 1,2mm fine or 1,5mm?
