Hello
I am thinking of having my rusty seat frames and springs sandblasted and was wondering which option would be better?

One sandblaster will blast then epoxy primer after so no rust forms

The next sandblaster will blast then powder coat black after.

The last one will blast then call me to pick up and then it’s up to me to spray can black.

Is the powder coat overkill? Will the epoxy primer crack from the springs flexing?
If a slight flash rust forms from the third option, will spray can rustoleum be sufficient to keep the rust from spreading and poking out of the paint later in years?
Thanks

I would go with option 1 or 2. One though you still have to paint the top coat and let dry. With powder coating it is time for assembly.

How much is the cost for each and who are you using?

Thanks

I realize this is an older post, but I was wondering if you had any issues with the moving parts on the seat frames after powder coating? It looks like you left the adjusters in place. Were they movable after powder coating?

Had mine powdered in a light beige on the frames and satin black on the spring packs.

Everything works fine!
