Well, what do you know….we done got some welding done! Sorry for the delays! Ima do better about keeping this thread alive. The front end is all together thanks to the tedious job of the Pro Spot Welder we have on-hand. Back to factory specs.

With the metalwork on the body out of the way, it was time to look at the pan. Like any other early car, this pan had its share of repairs and lack thereof. Floor pans were incorrect and normal rot was found and addressed. More on the fun side though, I wanted to open the tunnel up! Not as dirty as I thought it would be, at all. Added two fuel lines while the tunnel was open (EFI in the future maybe). For delivery and return.

Seat rails installed and seats installed just to double check the fitment! Deleted the later front trans mount and added a solid gene berg mid mount (weld in). Fitted a beam to make sure everything looked good and we were set. Was gonna paint the pan pink, but made a last minute change to paint it black…you’re welcome. 😂😂😂

Brought the pan back home for the assembly. First time assembling a pan and I can say it was definitely humbling. A lot of work goes into this. List of duties included:
- cleaning out all threads
-I installing ARP stainless hardware
-Front Beam install
-Rear suspension setup
-various pan parts powdercoated
-Transaxle assembly and install
-brake component install
-pedal assembly and shifter install

With the assembly done, it wasn’t without hiccups! But it’s all good. Definitely all easy fixes.
When we welded in the berg mount, we did so with a non-early bus Nosecone trans…which led to the mount being welded in the wrong place. This didn’t allow my actual trans and correct nose cone to line up correctly. So I cut it out!
Other notables:
- pedal assembly mounting holes not aligned
- shorten e-brake handle
- fab a cover for front tunnel access
- re-weld new berg mount in correct orientation
- repaint/refinish repaired areas

Looks like so much fun day, one day I'll hunt down an 11C (probably a graft like yours) and go through this fun.
Thanks for the update. _________________ I want a real garage.
