I decided to make a CAD model of my 54 while restoring. Found I was making drawings of the models to help with restoring/building parts. Having 1:1 prints of panels can be quite useful.

Putting all the time into creating models and drawings just for myself seemed like a bit of a waste so I started uploading them to GrabCAD after restoring the parts. Have had almost 500 downloads so thought a thread here for suggestions, comments, questions and experiences with the drawings would be helpful for insuring they are as useful and accurate as possible.

CAD models and drawings
Drawings are in PDF format (insure printing at 100% if using patterns). Any flat patterns have DXF files. Solid models are in Step format. The PNG files are just for previews on GrabCAD.

Please let me know here if you see any errors or have any details that I missed. Occasionally dimensions have a ? indicating it is not confirmed and could be accurate or just a guess. Also if anyone has VIN range, part numbers or year data I will add it to the title blocks. That was something I was going to research but never have the time.

These drawing are updated when errors or more info is found. The file name and revision number will change and notes are added to the details. Insure you have the latest revision before using these.

These models and drawings are off my Apr 54 standard. Many changes were made through production so drawings may not match other BD. Also there is a good amount of inaccuracies in the original parts and assemblies. This sometimes made it difficult to come up with the intended dimension.

And thanks for all the help I have received to get this far!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and drawings Sgellis.
I don't know if you're a professional CAD drawer, but even then it must have been an insane amount of work to measure and draw.

If I remember correctly, did you also made designs of the ambulance tow hook bracket?
I can't find them anymore on the samba.

Looking for some details for 54 front floor panels. Anything circled in red. These are the bits completely lost on my 54.

Hoping someone can fill in some of these. I think they are close but want them as exact as possible before I share the drawings... and build my floor.
