Westfalia mounted their dormy tops 2" farther to the front and hinges on the left, which is how I will mount mine...with pyro's help I hope.
PS
What instructions?

It’s supposed to “shrink” over time which they do state so on the installation instructions.

Nice! You are becoming Dormobile-West with your latest installation. Good thing you installed it in the correct direction this time.
I'm sure Eric is stoked. |
For reference:
And yes, he likes it! |
Westfalia never installed them in that direction (and I'm just messing with you):
Either direction that top is the shit. |
They also never put a black wheel in a flipseat! |

Preferably you want to score it with the top, as well as EVERYTHING needed! But it’s basically 1x1 inch wood sticks. If you were to make the frame, the bows would be the most difficult to make, though no impossible. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Any chance you could post up a few pics of what the wood frame AKA "sticks" looks like ? |

Check out the first post in this thread. You’ll see the front and rear bows. The sides are straight. You can also check out my gallery pix here, I may have pictures of the wood frame off the other 2 tops installs. In any case, they are pretty much the same as it’s used for Westy wood headliner installs. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Clara does the same wood bracing for the Westy poptops, I wonder if she would also do them for the Dormy top. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

how did you locate the hinges on the bus so you knew where to drill the holes for the hinges in the roof of the bus? _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

The process:
1) Place the top with the hinges on top of the roof centered as best you can.
2) Mark where the hinges will be.
3) Remove the top and take off the hinges.
4) Place the hinges on the marks to drill the holes.
One thing I do is use a square plate on the inside of the roof for each hinge for a stronger support than just the skin of the roof. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |
