Hi there, everyone!
I've got some doors I suspect aren't year-correct for my 1959 and I'm having problems figuring out which doorhandles I need to purchase for them. I had a set lying around but they don't seem to want to mate up to the pin that gets depressed when opening the door.
Could someone tell me what handle I should be ordering for this door?

I had a 65 when I bought these, so I think perhaps that's what my handles are for but I can't figure out which handles I'm in need of. I found this picture showing the different years of the 4 handles but it looks like perhaps the first handle in the row might match up to what I need.
I did find this pic on a sales site for 60-64 and that sure looks like the pin pusher I need.

Ok, silence on the topic at hand, so another angle.
Can anyone tell me what a 59 European spec use? Would it be icepick handles?
I'm wondering if I can modify the doors to use them. I found this pic and it makes me wonder if I that paddle would work with the pin in the door, leaving me just having to fill the front handle mount hole.

All beetles have icepick handles when they were built before August 1959. |

Thanks so much for the help. I ordered some icepick handles from WW and will see if they will work with my doors.

Yes, all Beetle DOORS built before AUG 59 had icepick handles. But that black door shown in the photo above was built after that date. I've never tried to put an icepick handle on a 60-mid64 door before. I "think" they work, but then you'll have an open hole in the door.
I wonder what year doors you do have. What kind of door check-stop rods do you have?

I used this on a '62 door... Super-Special brand "duct tape".... ask for it at your local welding supply....
