Does anybody know the purpose of this snap on the inside of my 71 westfalia cabinet door?

Check strap to keep it from getting tangled up in the sliding door?
I'm not confident Westfalia put that there.

I'm confident Westfalia did not put it there. But I like the idea of an owner-installed check strap. Have you looked inside the closet for mounting parts for the bleep other end?

I was auto-edited! We can't use the word bleep?
Here it is with hyphens: Pu-ta-tive
That's not even an actual swear word that I would have to put money in the jar for...

Despite allowing all manner of other swears, indeed that's what this particular censorship bot appears to do

"Tomato, Tumato, Potato, bleep
Let's call the whole thing off."

Apologies for the threadjack...
