Kubel in front of the backdrop of a mountain village in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily, with the structure of the Carmelite Convent visible. 1943.

for those wondering...this is the marble arch, or arch of the Philaeni, in libya on the coastal highway. The arch was designed by Italian architect Florestano Di Fausto and was unveiled in 1937. At this time the area was part of the Italian Mediterranean territories. The arch was demolished by dynamite in 1973, under the orders of Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi.
