Not sure, what ever VW used.
Why ask if epoxy? Would that be the least prone to absorb since a sealer? |
Yes. Epoxy is very resistant to chemicals.
If it’s VW primer then any of the wax removers should work but make sure you let it dry so no excess remains in the primer. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Would there be a wax to choose over another?
I don't have the funds or space to epoxy primer the whole, just tired of seeing the mess the paint shop did and hard not to suspect took advantage of a weak man (he became that way after FDA approved treatment gave him cancer of the pallet and gave him a very soft voice). So until do, thinking give Ruby a coat of wax, keep from the prior rust getting worse and the original paint shines up nicely; lot of places were not sanded before coating with paint (most of the coachwork primer was not used). _________________ Please consider I am Autistic, so I process information differently and still working on social skills. Ok.
Are you saying you want to wax the car to stop it from deteriorating, hence the question:
“If I ever want to paint the car at a later date, will I be able to remove all that wax?” _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Do not wax the car, it will cause more problems down the road and do no benefit. _________________ '67 Beetle L41

Any rattle can primer and paint will be better and safer than wax. How much metal are we talking about? _________________ '67 Beetle L41

I would spray gloss clear coat on from rattle cans if you want to protect/keep it original permanently. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

I have an autistic (read brilliant) grandson who asks “different” questions so
I am aware of how he processes things. So I was just trying to help Adriel “normalise” the question for the rest of us dumb-ass-es. Not sure if it was successful. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Yes, wax will work fine for now.
You shouldn't have any trouble removing it & its gases.
Even if it takes a year to afford 2 dozen spray cans it's okay since paint or clear is in your future.
You should buy a gallon of clear and spray it yourself! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts
