Thanks to a local bus owner, I found a camber compensator that mounts to the trans horns, rather than trans. I had one of the second kind but was leery of loosening bolts to put it on (an attempt at a midmount resulted in weepy trans seal :P).
The spring portion of the new one is clearly stamped NHK and Made In Japan, but can't quite make out the model number
I get no hits in any searches for "NHK camber compensator" but the EMPI one comes along for the ride... so I am assuming that someone took a spring and married an EMPI carrier to it? NHK spring is roughly 6" shorter than EMPI one, but same width. The red carrier has no markings on it, nor does the trans-mounted one as far as I can see. Looks identical, and fits, so I'm fine with it, whether EMPI or knock-off.
Bolts were mangled - if EMPI, I assume these are not metric? Might be 7mm IF metric, but that size seemed loose. 8 is too big. I may need to retap brackets and do 8mm if the threads are too far gone to figure out.
Rubber donut from blackdog1999 fits perfect. Other resto parts came from naughtyG and kiwi_obecny
last question: brackets appear to be angled; made to fit one way, or worn?

For the record, the holes cleaned up nicely with a 5/16ths chaser ; the boltsneeded are fine thread 5/16th grade 8. 3/4” or 1”. _________________ Craig K
