A year or two ago i had an idea to use the mounting points of the diesel carrier bar to mount a diagonal brace going to the gas engine skidplate bars. This long unsupported section is easily pushed up into contact with the engine/ trans. Then i noticed one of the vendors - gw or rmw had made them already along with another piece iirc that supported the driveshaft protection bars in the middle in a similar fashion. Pretty sure they had them on the baja rig. This is not the brace that gw currently sells for the crossmember that the trans bolts too. I already made those years ago. When i tried to find these items again recently they were no longer on any of the websites. Did anyone purchase these when available? Gw cant find any record of them. I plan on making them with a stout turnbuckle that will allow for pretensioning and adjustment anyway but just wondered if anyone bought them when available? _________________ Reference Automotive: NW Washingtons Vanagon Specialist.
