Nose cone seal - replace?

Buttoning up the nose cone to slide the trans back in.

There is no slop, whatsoever, with the hockey stick so I am assuming that the bushing is still good. The seal didn't leak before but should I replace it with a new one? Or am I asking for possible trouble by doing so?

Are you talking about the seal between the cone and the body? If so yes do it.

Not that one, I am replacing it-- it must be the original.

This is the seal I am wondering about...

Personally, I would replace it.
Its highly unlikely the trans will ever be out again. If it time or money, it worth spending both in the long run.
