I ran across this in my search for a floor pan seal. I knew that I had the conventional rubber seal, but also found this. I must have gotten it several years ago when I was restoring a 74 super beetle. Question is, " Have any of you used this type of seal. It seams to be some sort of foam material with a peel and stick type of installation? If so, are they better or worse than the rubber seal?

Mexican made Beetles used a similar product to seal the body to the pan. The density of the foam used was very low. It squishes down to less than 1/8".

It is important to use closed cell foam. If not closed cell, the foam will absorb water. Test the stuff you have by seeing if it absorbs water when you submerge it.
