Sorry Brian, but no. Since the Show starts at 10:00 and lunch is scheduled to start serving at 11:00 - we decided against it. However... there are more than enough stops, including before you turn on the final leg to the Park, that you will be able to get your life's blood - I mean coffee! |

Well I got a leaking axle boot on the way there....Then on the way home 3 blocks from my house the throttle cable snaps!...lol....I was pretty damn lucky cause I did'nt take a jack or an extra cable with me.....I limped the truck home by setting the choke and putting in 1st gear....then swaped out the broken cable when I got home.....I'll mess with the axle boot tomorrow.....
The show was pretty kewl....Kinda hard to find...I didn't see any signs saying which way to go once you enter the park........I thought all the cars would be under shade...but they were lined up near the road....the raffle prizes were awesome!....The food was GREAT.....wasn't much of a swap/vendor deal, but it was a start.....It seemed like there was plenty of STAFF people..(people in the red shirts) but they were all in one place....(registration booth).....I paid $25 for a swap spot...then was told later the swap was free.....lol...I didn't get a registration card when I paid my money either?????......Oh well...all in all it was kewl to see Vw's I got to meet LHG while I was leaving...seen veedubs' bus and Chris Galvins yellow bus.....Hope to see more and meet more people next year! _________________ FOOK CANCER

All out gang had a good time at the show. I got a chance to talk to a lot of people and put some samba names with faces. All I got to say is KombiMonster's single cab is badass.
I split off from the group on the way home and took the scenic route. Beautiful drive home thru cattle county in Central Cal.

It was a beautiful day, thanks to the German Dreams car club. Will try to make it again next year. |

The photo is about 5 miles south of 46 on Bitterwater Valley Rd.
If you are leaving Bakersfield going to Paso, Bitterwater Valley Rd takes off at a SW angle from Hwy 46 just west of Blackwells Corner (Hwy 46 & Hwy 33, James Deans last stop)
That's in Kern County, it goes for a while and then Tee's into the San Luis County Bitterwater Rd that runs north south from Hwy 58 to 46. It ends up on 46 just east of Shandon.
Google maps doesn't show it to well. It is on most CA state road maps. _________________ Brian O'Kelly
