Has anyone used a chenowth cage in a manx? I want to put a roll cage in one and don''t want to start from scrath and saw on another thread that the chenowth cage is a really good starting point for a roll cage and you can add to it.

I've never done it or heard of any one doing it. But I don't see why you couldn't. The only problem that I would see is if you have a short bodied manx. Then you would have to shorten the cage as well. Which could prove tricky to do and keep it strong. _________________ is it time to get out of the dirt and switch to the street? |

all you would have to shorten is the 2 top tubes, that would be easier than what i had to do, i had to shorten all 4 tubes cus im not usng a body lift, but since your in a manx it wont matter. _________________ fear causes hesitation and hesitation will cause your worst fear to come true. |

I am biulding a Manx with a full cage. The design incorporates a tube that run from front to rear attaching to torsion tube and beam. It follows the concour of the pan. Also the cage is big and roomy. Not like some that are cramped and don't do much in a roll over.
That's all

The problem with the Chenowth cage is that it would look awful in a Manx style buggy. The cage is made to follow the contour of the bug roof, consequently the crossbar along the top of the windshield and the rear hoop are arched or should I say pointed.

Good point Jerry, I didn't think of that. I have the original roll bar, maybe I can build from that.
