I received an email from someone named, "Ethel R. Paige" <[email protected]>
There was an attachment with a very real looking Parts Geek logo on the letterhead. The subject line stated this "Automatic Invoice: 2025-09-18 Auto-Debit for 67rustavenger."
I haven't purchased anything from Parts Geek since July 2025.

There was no way in hell, I was gonna click on any part of that scam email, other than send it to the scam file on my computer.

Be aware! Some scammers are using very real, legit looking logo's to convince you that you need to view their attempt to infect your computer/phone with a virous.

If there's an issue with my debit card I get a text from the bank asking if I made that transaction and I reply yes or no. I get a text asking about a charge in Arizona and I reply N. Then I get a call from my banks security department which already sounded strange but maybe they have a new procedure. So I asked the guy which card and he says the one beginning in 5110. Beginning? Ok, something isn't right. I asked where he's calling from and he tells me the main office in Clayton. My banks main office is in Clayton so I asked if it was storming there as it's really coming down here. Oh yes he says, it's really raining here too. It's sunny, 100 deg, hot as balls outside and we haven't had rain in a month. Of course I hung up but I wonder how many people fell for it. Scammers are scum.

I ran big box retail stores for years. When the alarm company would call in the middle of the night notifying of an alarm activation. Protocol was to hang up and call the alarm company back directly using the phone number and contact information we were issued. I use that MO today when banks or other companies reach out to me for various fraud notifications. I don’t trust so I verify Wink

Its amazing how much effort scammers will make but to work at a real job? No way! I just don't get it. I suspect that most aren't even from the U.S.

Most of the scammers are overseas, and for them it is just a job. They work for the scammer and make a wage, think of the telemarketer here. They’re just doing their 9 to 5 it’s just screwing you is their job description.

They are immoral crooks, sure its a nine to five job for them and they do their stealing from their desk in their office, but they are no different than any scumbag crook. They belong in prison.

The scam I get here in North Carolina a lot now is for unpaid toll travel in nearby Virginia. They threaten to debit your bank account and notify DMV to suspend your license. I move it to the trash file but wonder how many people with failing mental capacity actually respond to this with credit card info.

Ok, here's a new one that I received this afternoon.

I got a text from B of A, asking if I had made a purchase at Walmart in Kansas.
I replied, No. Got an immediate phone call from someone claiming to be from the B Of A fraud depart. An unfamiliar phone number. Phone, 704-579-0102.

As the inquiry from someone named Amber went on, I did ask for an employee ID number and she provided one. Employee ID #23980123.

I became skeptical of the questions she was asking.

When it came to verifying my information, I told her that I was not gonna reveal that info to a phone number that I could not search online.
She stated that my skepticism was normal and would have someone call me from the B of A 800 number. That call didn't come through.

I called B of A directly and spoke with the fraud dept.
They had no idea what that phone number was or who that persons employee ID # number was.

All my accounts were in good standing and there were no charges from any Walmart in Kansas.

Be vigilant, the scammers are getting better and convincing!

Honestly, I LOVE messing with scammers. I get calls from "my local house builder working in my area" I ask, how local are you? address? give me the address where you are working?

Tons of calls from Google to update my business information, I start typing away," tell me what you see on your screen, and I will confirm"

I get texts that I made a large purchase. my reply " where is my package B@TCH?"

I get text from Asian hotties, claiming they texted me by mistake. I know they are men, I mess with them enough to get them upset. my reply, "if I take you out to dinner to Paris, is this the way you going to act?"

Trust me, my family is not that stupid to fall for AI or scammers.

I could keep going on and on. If I have time, they are getting messed with.

Because of one of my jobs, I have to answer every single call I get.
