I have a ‘68 and that frame looks about like what mine did. Like Phil said, the front right jack tube looks messed up, but other than that, looks fine. If I had to do it again, I would reinforce the step in entry area a little more and add mounts for an ambulance step. I can get you measurements Monday when I’m back home if you say what you need. I’m sure others can provide some measurements if you need them sooner. _________________ 1973 Standard Beetle - running maintenance thread - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=675712&highlight=

| On pages 94 and 95 in this thread, you can see a couple pictures of the flooring replacement I did in 68 to compare against what you have. Maybe that will give you at least something to compare yours to? |

Thanks for your replies!
I have compared my chassis to many photos of original ones, that how I discovered mine if far from correct. Starting with the tow bar, missing the round draw tube, instead it has square tube. The welds are very poor and nothing is square...nothing. If you look closely.. nothing really lines up. Wrong axle. In the rear it's missing where the floor frame rises, instead remains horizontal.
The vertical tubes appear to be made of galvanized electrical conduit...again nothing square. About and inch difference from side to side. Stick welds barely holding together. Missing window frame structures. It's been skinned twice from what I can see.
It's a project for sure! Looking at rebuilding a majority of the frame/chassis if I can find enough measurements/references.
Thanks again!

Hey Phil,
Where are you located? I’m about to disassemble my puck if you need to come take measurements and such. If you’re too far I can do it for you. _________________ ~~~~~~> LEE <~~~~~~

Here are some photos of the puck I just picked up. It’s in very bad shape.

Hey Lee!
My hero! I'm located just outside of Eugene, Oregon, so quite a drive to get to you. I would really appreciate it if you could provide some measurements!!! Let me get some sketches and descriptions together of what i'm looking for and i'll send them over.
Your puck looks like a diamond to me, very complete unlike mine. Looks like fun!
Thanks again!
Phil

Wow! That thing is rough! It looks like literally everything needs to be done. But I’m glad you’re willing to put in the effort to save it. It will be a massive project, but worth it in the end.
Is the plan to bring it back to original, or are you going to customize it?
For parts, your best bet is EriBasar in Germany. They were so helpful when I didn’t even know which specific pieces I needed. Lots of good used parts as well as everything new you might need. |

I’ve already started talking to them.. there is one big problem. No one is shipping to the US from Europe. _________________ ~~~~~~> LEE <~~~~~~

Hi Lee,
Sorry for my silence! I made up some drawings to make this as easy as possible. I'm planning on completely rebuilding the frame as I find more things wrong/potential hazards.
The drawings are currently not to scale. I used many images of frames I found on the internet and used my rough dimensions to create the drawings. I plan to make a more accurate drawing in the future for anyones use once I have enough measurements.
I don't expect you to provide every single measurement, just what you are able to give. I don't know how far you are disassembling your Puck, but don't create more work for yourself just to give me a measurement.
I plan to build the chassis first, so the first file (EribaFrame1) is the one i'm looking to get measurements for. The other two files are there if you are able to get the measurements. You can either message me or write the recorded measurements (A.B.C.) here. Let me know if you have any questions.
No rush! Thank you so much!
Phil
