Looking for Grandmas 58 Beetle Petaluma, CA

I hope this is okay to post here. I am looking for my great grandmas 1958 VW Beetle black in color was sold for 250 dollars in Petaluma CA between 79-81 to a gentleman that worked at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse. Her name was Martha Waite and the plate # was EDC323. This is a long shot but it would mean alot if i could find it in any condition since shes been gone for some years now. Unfortunately we have not located any pictures yet but it was a standard bug Thanks guys

It could be anywhere in the country by now. Or sitting in a garage covered in dust.
I'm in Petaluma and my friend in town has been in the VW scene around here for decades. I'll ask him if he by chance knows anything.

I don't know if it still works this way, but the online registration site in CA used to let you enter a license plate/chassis number, and later in the process, after you backed out of a screen, show you some otherwise restricted information. Search and experiment... just don't hit "complete purchase" lol!

Do you know the chassis number?

EDIT: Website appears to have changed, so they may have closed this loophole.

While most people would keep the old plate. Its highly possible that it doesn't have that plate on it anymore.

When I Google that plate number along with 1958 Beetle, nothing came up except this post.

Without more information on the car like a chassis number, etc. it'll be next to impossible to find more info on the potential whereabouts of the car.
