The switch seems readilly available and has the single click start
The lock barrel (211.905.855.3) is not right, it only has one lug to turn the cam where there are two slots in the cam. That said it will operate the cam fine. The lock only has one position where you can remove the key, in the steering bolted postion.
I'm also not sure the key sticks through enough to activate the slider, if that's what it does.
I have now managed to design and 3D print another cam in PETG as proof of concept and it works. Long term I'm sure it would get worn out. I got a quote through for having it printed in Aliuminium, for one its coming in at nearly £200 (~$263), less for higher quantities.
Using the photos in this thread I have tried to reproduce the slider but I don't fully understand its function or operation so can't see what it brings to the party at the moment. There is no slot in my cam for the pin on the underside of the slider |

Right, I have now mocked up the slider so I can play with it and I finally understand its function I think...
It stops the steering lock activating until the key has been removed.
As already said a lovely bit of engineering |
It looks like you have the sliding parts that fit your middle housing part. The middle housing part carries the turning of the key on across to the electric part. The electric part has the springs in it to spring from start to run. It should work as that little 2nd nub will still help turn the middle and switch. |

Without having a sliding peg to measure trying to get this working has a lot of trial and error. The height of the sprung peg, latch has to be just right to catch the key but not so tall that it interferes with the rotating cage/lock barrel. The ramp angle also has to be right so that the peg can slide past the key when needed.
I have also checked with PCBway and Ali printing is a lot cheaper and quicker too. So watch this space. _________________ 1975 South African Fleetline |

Both the bodies I have, have holes in the bottom at about 5:30. On one this is where the steel pin still lives. So I knocked it out...
It took a bit of the surrounding Ali out when I did it and left a very simalar looking hole to the other body I have...
It looks as though the securing pin is actually a self tapping screw that is then ground back?
I'm going to look at using a grub screw when I get this back together properly. _________________ 1975 South African Fleetline |

The AudiVw lock you posted does not use the pin you removed.
The pin you removed is a pin with a knurled end to stay in. Not a screw but someone may have come back and used a screw.
The AudiVW lock is released by using a drift into the hole that has the bolt that holds it to the column. |

Got the parts back after having them 3D printed in Ali...
The parts have a sintered finish and some slight edges that need finishing and filing back, but did it not take long to get a working mech. _________________ 1975 South African Fleetline |

Tell why you made those excellent parts. What was wrong with your original parts except for the "one-lug" on your lock barrel?

The issue was, I didn’t have the parts and where would you get them? It seems people put these locks to one side for use on another project and in the meantime the guts of the lock fall out and get lost.
I managed to find a few bodies but not much that was complete and reasonably priced. Also I had a hankering to print something in Ali to see what it came out like. _________________ 1975 South African Fleetline |
