Need some help here, I am venturing into the Dune buggy world (a friend has a buggy he wants to unload) so I am trying to get a price estimate???
Where would a good place be to estimate values on a Dune buggy? |

You could start with looking in the classifieds for a similar car, and understand that prices are "asking" price not sold price. An alternative is bring a trailer for asking and sold prices. _________________

Could see somewhat the market is by some research on someplace like "Bring a Trailer"...
https://bringatrailer.com/
But there is so many variables... Like body style, paint, upholstery, engine, tires/wheels....
It could be valued anywhere from $2500 to $25,000...
But its real value is whatever buyer is willing to pay.... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

Like Dale suggested.....SO many variables.
running? Title? Paint? Suspension? Motor size? Interior? Wheel/tire selection
I have seen them for $400to $25k++
I am old school and some of the prices I am seeing now are coo-koo IMHO
I have sold running/driving buggies from $2,000 to $15,000
And my higher priced buggies would probably be underpriced in today's market |

Be aware that a Buggy can be a lot of bling and no substance or conversely not look like much but have a really good core. You have to be able to see deeper than the surface.
The Buggy I bought was "road ready" and indeed it started and drove... with a few quirks. Those quirks have taken me down a path of re-creation spanning 7 years now off and on and it is not finished yet.
In retrospect I did pay too much for it and likely will not recover my investment dollars. Certainly not my time! But it's a hobby... This is what it was for $6500.
This is what it is now with a different engine, different transaxle, upgraded brakes, new front beam and many other things. If I were to sell it now I would be asking well north of $10K.
I hope that gives a bit of perspective. Post some pictures of this Buggy you are considering please! _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |

| When you're doing your search in BaT, type in Volkswagen Rail and Dune Buggy. Or Meyers Manx. Two different search results. |
