Triple composite of dual-grille 356 B Coupe accompanying a 1930's Auto Union mid-engine Grand Prix racer, YouTube "Edelweiss Bergpreis Rossfeld" (2024). The Rossfeld Panorama Road is a scenic toll road in southeastern Germany near Berchtesgaden. The magnificent mid-engined racer was designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. This car with its dual rear wheels was set up for hillclimbs in the mid-to late 1930's. The dual rear tires helped bring the power to the ground for better traction, from the V16 supercharged watercooled engine (!). Hans Stuck (Sr.) was one of the few drivers who mastered the handling on sharp curves on hillclimbs in that era. The racer (an original, not replica) is from Audi's museum collection in Ingolstadt.

Have any of you seen photos of the award-winning '60 356 B custom built by Tim Franklin, or possibly even been to the SEMA show in Las Vegas earlier this month? "Battle of the builders".

An excellent resource, wagen! Are you able to take screen shots, prepare them, and post them here? There are many races covered in this video; all are from the German Touring Car Championship in 1955, with the first one shown being production sports cars- a field full of Porsche 356 in 2 batches- 1500 cc and the 2nd one at 1300 cc. Very Happy

Is that a young Graham Hill at lower right @ 0:43?

Hello dear Rome,
I think, you have the better possibilities for making screen shots and posting them.
Up to now I did no search for for more info about that race at Nurburgring late May of 1955, only here:

https://www.racingsportscars.com/results/Nurburgring-1955-05-29.html

At "ARD Mediathek" (german TV), with some luck, we can find some more good material.

OK, it seems quite possible, that he is it with 26 years.

Among the Porsche 356 drivers are some interesting names along VW and Porsche motorsport history, such as Walter Hampel (VLK), Paul-Ernst Strahle, Victor Spingler, Max Nathan and more.
It was planned as a big party with some show events, stimulating sales.

https://www.racingsportscars.com/results/Nurburgring-1955-05-29a.html

Interesting would be, if there were 356 cars with early Carrera engines in the field.
Goetze is a factory that made piston rings and much more.

Thanks Rome, ep. 6 is my favorite of "Die fünfte Kolonne". The junkjards in some episodes are also pretty interesting. Ep. 2, 5, 11 and 21 imo are also very cool. And of course, the western spies had allways won.
There are more old german TV-criminal and spy-series with some interesting cars and so on, such as:
Stahlnetz, Das Kriminalmuseum (ep. 14: 3 356A and 5 356 B police convertibles) and more for children, Cliff Dexter, Percy Stuart.
Also to mention is "Die Olsenbande" from Denmark.

Here you go, wagen-

Per the above link- Porsche 356 race before start. The Nuerburg castle's tower is visible in the background. Just below the bottom edge of the photo was the video's "progress bar" which I was not able to work around. Rather than have it distract from the overall shot, I cropped the photo to just above it. Nearly all cars have license plates; thereby likely all driven to the race.

I’m pretty sure this is just a photo shoot. Mariah doesn’t drive. She’s driven.

Blue 356 Coupe parked along Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades, California. TV show "CHiPs", S2E5. Exact location is on the northbound side, between Monument and Carey Streets. Diagonally across the street from the elementary school which I attended in the mid '60's. Very Happy Looking at GoogleMaps street view now, you only see near-empty lots due to the buildings being burned in the enormous Palisades fire last Feb. Crying or Very sad
