I had never seen the joke Engine Rebuild Kit that is just a rubber band in card packaging. Saw a picture of it last night on Reddit and thought that it would be cute to hang one on my workbench pegboard.

Below is what is being sold on Ebay by someone for $20 delivered and then my version of it. I stole the EMPI logo from the web and drew it in Paint program. Walgreens printed it as a 4x6 photo for 20 cents and I shrink wrapped it using kitchen Saran wrap and a heat gun.

Somewhere I have one of those from the late 1970s... they are at least that old!

They were all over the place still in the 80’s. Never bought one, I had precious few dollars for VW parts back then. Centerlines and Dellorto kits were more important to save up for.

Wow! I've had my "Royze" version of this engine rebuild kit for decades. It's hanging above my basement workbench about 3 feet from my skull right now! I wonder what they're getting for 'em nowadays? Pretty funny!

Same! I have a few of them and they always get a chuckle when someone new drops by the shop.
