I am thinking about buying a street equipped bounty hunter that i have found. I am looking for something to drive back and forth to work. The one I have found has a 1700CC engine in it. I was kinda curious if anyone can tell me what kind of gas mileage I can expect out of such a car/buggy? What is the speed range like too?

The guy is wanting $1500 for it and it needs some work. The body is in great shape but the engine would need to be rebuilt or replaced. I am a novice at best when dealing with VWs. I have spent a lot of time working Ford an GM products but have no idea what it takes to work on a VW. It looks like a releatively simple motor but sometimes looks are decieving.

This would not be my primary car but something to use during the hot days of summer.

Thanks,
Shane

1700cc engine, so its a pancake motor? Seems ball park for $ area but they arent a high desired Buggy. Expect 25-35mpg area.
