I just purchased a '74 VW Thing. The fuel gauge doesn't work. Any suggestions on where to start i.e. with the tank sender unit or the gauge itself or the vibrator? How can I check the gauge and the vibrator? Is there a test for the tank sender unit?

Go to the ghia forum section and try the suggestions under fuel guage. Good luck.
