I am definitely down on meeting up and camping. If anyone from the La area or south wants to meet up where I am at and carabus up north to Big Sur or any other spot let me know. Even if its not for another month or so none of the campgrounds will be full like they usually are in the summer. Maybe sometime in early October? Anthony _________________ slow down! |

Just because a car is old doesn't mean it should be elevated to classic staus. Would you ever call a Dodge Aries or Ford Monarch a classic? If so, you have issues! |
Actually, my family has a history of "classic" pieces of junk in pristine condition. I owned an immaculate mid-late '70s Dodge Aspen for about a year in high school...I bought it for $500 from an estate with something like 40k miles in 1994! What a hunk of junk!
My grandmother currently owns a 1985 Buick with only 27k miles on it, and even though she bought a new one about a year ago, she can't bear to part with it! She pays my cousin to wash it about once a week, and gets it detailed every six months or so...sentimental attachments, go figure. Ghetto kids are starting to offer to buy it from her when she takes it to the grocery store! All it needs is some 20 inch rims, and LOOK OUT!
Hey...I just realized between my bus and the old Aspen, I've owned 2 of Dick&Whack's...oops, I mean Click&Clack's top 10 worst cars of all time! Guess I should keep a lookout for a good restorable Pacer or Pinto next _________________ 79 Deluxe Bay

Hey, my wife had a Pinto wagon when we met. Not an exotic vehicle but we had many "memorable" experiences in the back of it. Decent car until an engine fire wiped it out. _________________ Larry in OB

Do you guys think we should try to "organize"? As of this point how many bay window guys have responded to this thread? Head count please....
I'd be down with some kind of expedition. lets figure it out. |

As soon as mine’s back on the road I’d definitely like to participate.
How ‘bout some location/event ideas? I’m new to the scene, so I don’t know of anything other than what I’ve seen on here and some other sites during the last couple of months. Campland on the Bay in San Diego is great, but can be a little pricey. It’s right on Mission Bay, and the way the campsites are laid out would be great for a decent size get together. They have an annual car show there, so they might be willing to work with us on the price if there’s enough participation. Here’s their link if anyone wants to check it out: http://campland.com
There's already been a few ideas/suggestions posted here, let's get some more listed…

Count me in.
Going to have to be a snob if you want to bring the Pinto, though... _________________ Bus Motor Build

I'm in too, but San Diego is a little far. I'm near SF in Norcal _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Hear ya there Crofty, that's why we need to get several ideas listed. There's already been a few, but let's get some more on here. |
