I don' think so. In 78 we were using L-tronic.

I think it might be for the 68+ CIS injection system used in the Type IIIs.

CIS is on the rabbits, jettas etc. Cars, not buses. Save your money.

"Tronic" = electronic, CIS= mechanical. Basic difference. Wink

80-83 Vanagon Air-cooled = L-Jetronic

83-85 Vanagon Water-cooled = Digijet

86-91 Vanagon Water-cooled = Digifant

CIS is Constant Injection System. It uses a fuel distributor head and mechanical injection valves. Totally mechanical system.

L-jetronic uses electrically operated injectors and a Air Flow Meter and a ECU. An electric system.
