I have a 1641 DP, and when I stop at lights, stop signs, etc. it stalls within 30 secs. I can not keep it running without constant revving. Other than that, the car drives beautifully once it is moving.

Seems like your carb needs adjusting. You may have to adjust the throttle on it. I'd pay pump the gas up and ref it when your at a stop. |

Then set your carb(s).

Carb? Tune-up? Makes it tough to diagnose without some more info, other than 'it stalls'
If stock carb, everything else in good working order, I would check carb adjustment (including choke) and double check your idle shut off solenoid on the side of the carb. Make sure you hear a click when touching the connector to the solenoid. _________________ OG JHC

While it could be several things, I like what Bob states, check the electomagnectic cut off solenoid and make sure it is;
hooked up to + side of the coil ( and clicks with the key on.. pull the wire on and off a few times to make sure
not LOOSE in the carb body, just being loose causes it not to have ground and not work.
or a piece of debris in the "idle pilot jet" which is a brass screw in jet on the right side of the carb behind/below the choke
will also cause this symtom.
I would check those first and go from there. |
