I can tell ya it's not worth $175. There was a member on here a couple years ago that had a stash of them nos along with formula vee hood bras and he was selling them for $20-$25. Shoot me an e-mail on it. _________________ Yeah I like Herbie AND New Beetles. Got a problem with it? Tough.

I've seen NOS ones sell for around $75 on E-Bay. These were also for the pre '67 Beetles. Keep in mind there are several different sizes out there as well : pre 1967, 68-77 Standards and big ugly suckers for Super Beetles. |

I just decided I can't live without one of these after seeing some photos. If yours fits a '67 beetle are you looking to sell it? _________________ Custom cars need love too!! |

Ooops! Just saw by your classified ad that you already sold it! But I did find a UK place selling them. Looks like a slightly larger checked pattern. Definitely a cool look! After getting a couple of little dings in my new paint from pebbles on the road I need to find something to protect my hood and these look SO much cooler than the plain black ones. Are there other designs... like maybe flames?!! _________________ Custom cars need love too!! |

Yes!! Here ya go. These look SO much cooler than a plain black bra. I think the checkered bra really adds to the cars appearence rather than taking away from it. There are come interesting wheel covers and VW van bras here too, I wonder if they have a matching wheel cover? That would be sweet. It looks like they will do custom projects so I would guess that would probably be something they could do.

Something original is probably better going to someone who would use it more gently than I would. My car's my daily driver and I need a bra to protect my paint. I've already had a couple of little dings. I think it would probably be better going to someone who would just put it on for shows and such. _________________ Custom cars need love too!! |

I have one of those chequered covers for the bonnet/hood. It came with the car from the dealership back in 1966, and has some matching covers for the Wipac spot lights. The original owner never used it, but kept the lamp covers on. I only use the bonnet cover when I have to go on long motorway journeys, as they have a nasty habit of catching condensation underneath them.

I like that cover, The ones on that website make the squares too big. IMO _________________ Schrodinger's cat walked into a bar and it didn't.

Yeah, the new ones look weird with the big checkered pattern. A fellow member of my club has a trunkliner that's the same pattern. _________________ Yeah I like Herbie AND New Beetles. Got a problem with it? Tough.
