I noticed that most people that have an oil bath filter
don't have the air tubing hooked up to the apron. I believe
that in our warmer climate (Texas) it's not necessary.
My question is if it's not hooked up shouldn't the hole in the
apron be plugged up to prevent hot air from flowing up
into the engine compartment. Is there a part for plugging
this up? |

You could plug it up with an expandable type plug, but it is easier to just get a length of hose and somw hose clamps and put it back on.
The way fall came in around here, it may be a colder than usual winter in Houston this year... and it wouldn't hurt to have the extra warm air going to the carb. |

I have nothing to connect to, just a hole. Where can I get a connector and seal for this hole. I guess I could fab something. |

Just get a small vacuum hose and split it and you can glue it in place if you want it will fit in there nice and seal everything up, and will still look okay and not all mangled up. If you going to fab something something like a can would work but I would just go to a VW shop and get one of the metal sleeves that fits in there. I usually keep mine blocked off but I am in different climate then you. good luck anthony _________________ slow down! |
