What size of tubing is that and what wall thickness? I need to get some shock towers and do that, it would help me alot.
Thanks for the guide. |
On the beam I used a donor beam that is also where I got the extra springs for the front. But if you move the adjusters in a little (measure first) in you can get away with using 1 pair of springs vice 2 . If you want I will measure the diameter and thickness if you are going to buy your Tubing. I shortend the Shock tower by 2 inches I believe so the shocks would use full movement. I looked all over trying to find somebody who did a ten inch wider beam and adding adjusters and could not so I posted the info I used. After I finsihed it did not seem as a difficult task as I thought but sure did alot of measuring and looking, alot! _________________ For a Good time |

If I were you I would probably add more gussets to the s10 box.I have put a few of those in buggys and learned quite a bit about doing it,the first two I did I didnt have enough bracing on it and when the guy hit a tree going up a hill it snapped it right off the frame and was a bitch getting it back to camp, but since then weve never had one break off in 5 years with plent of gussets, unless you just ride in sand I wouldnt worry about it.just my 2 cents aaron |

1987, when I went to the junk yard and asked them if they had one they said no but looked in the computer, they did have one and it has been sitting on the shelf since 93 had 78k on it got it for $45 with pittman arm. It was built to be able to handle off road better then the VW steering. _________________ For a Good time |

I just went back through this thread... LOL. Your shop looks a lot like mine. Most of the equipment in there is Woodworking stuff. All the cutoffs in the old empty contact buckets are cracking me up! I also use my tablesaw as a workbench

check out www.outbackmotors.com. john really knows his shit about engin mangement systems. plus it has a lot of good info on where to start. for that motor you should check out www.nippon-motors.com that is where i am geting mine from. get the motor and then then let john set it up on the dyno and what not. that is the plan for me at least. ( fortunaltly i do live within 20 min of both places and have been to both) _________________ Baja Ben.
